In today’s world, globalisation and innovation are influencing the strategy of businesses and their managers. ESC2R aims to train its students to become future responsible entrepreneurs, capable of operating in a global environment. The school is perfectly in step with both current and future needs of businesses, a strength that pervades the entire institution, from lecturers through to education and research.

ESC2R is dedicated to producing mangers capable of operating in the workplace as soon as they graduate. With this in mind, the Business School of the International University of Rabat draws on the teaching and expertise of research lecturers at ESC Rennes School of Business and Moroccan experts in the field. This strong synergy constitutes a genuine asset in terms of preparing the next generation of players who will be required to operate and to create value within our now globalised economy.

puce A multidisciplinary campus

The International University of Rabat (UIR) is determined to play an indispensable role in developing the economy of knowledge, mainly in Morocco but also in Africa, by responding to the concerns of developed countries, international organisations and the Union for the Mediterranean. Created with the support of both the Moroccan and French governments, the UIR boasts various educational and research centres in a range of areas, including information and communication technology, engineering science and renewable energies. It also runs an institute of political studies.

ESC2R Rennes Rabat Business School forms part of the International University of Rabat, with study programmes adapted to suit the regional context. It will roll out its Grande Ecole Programme (BAC + 5) and International Bachelor Programme in Management (IBPM) – (BAC + 3) from here as of autumn 2010. These programmes are taught in the same way as those run at the ESC Rennes School of Business campus in Rennes (France).

puce A resolutely international outlook

ESC Rennes School of Business is a management Grande Ecole accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and by the Open University of Great Britain. Its Grande Ecole programme is also EPAS certified, courtesy of the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).

Ever since it was founded, ESC Rennes School of Business has placed a particular focus on the international scene. 80% of permanent teaching staff and a third of students are international, which lends the Rennes campus a highly unique multicultural vibe. This unique international environment in Europe means that pupils can study in conditions conducive to the broadening of horizons and the development of a people-focused approach. The school is a member of the French Grande Ecoles consortium and stands out for its high academic standards and close links with businesses.

puce High academic standards

Lecturers at ESC Rennes School of Business are heavily involved in the teaching and creation of new knowledge through their research activities. This ensures that a steady stream of the latest discoveries feeds into the teaching of management science. Research is organised into two research centres: the responsible business centre and the technology and innovation management centre.

puce Extremely close links with businesses

Businesses are more than just the end-goal for our students. They are also valuable educational partners who support them from the moment they join the school until they graduate.

Programmes

THE GRANDE ECOLE

PROGRAMME

MANAGER 3.0

IBPM - “INTERNATIONAL

BACHELOR PROGRAMME

IN MANAGEMENT”

“You see no difference between life as a student and that as a Manager 3.0 ”

“Learning through discovery and action in a changing world ”

Every year ESC Rennes School of Business welcomes around 300 new students onto this programme accredited by both the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and EPAS of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD accreditation).

Students come mainly from preparatory classes and follow a 3 year management course, excluding their year out*, with a strong emphasis on globalisation. Manager 3.0 gradually enables students to construct their training course in line with their career plans.

The Grande Ecole Programme focuses on four different study areas that both complement each other and interact in order to create learning synergies, helping students to develop their career plans:

  • Understanding of business management concepts, methods and tools
  • The international dimension
  • Practical application of knowledge
  • Development of personal potential

The IBPM is the first level of European recognised degrees (undergraduate level, BAC + 3), and offers successful baccalauréat candidates the opportunity to follow a professionalising and international course.

Students can also use the course as a stepping stone to management Grande Ecoles via the parallel admissions system, thereby going straight into the second year of the Grande Ecole Programme.

This programme teaches its students to adopt an enactive stance, which is then formalised into learning loops, alternating periods spent in businesses, theoretical studies and discussions with lecturers.

This progressive vision underpinning the programme is fully consistent with a business and management study programme designed for future graduates. In this ever-changing, globalised world, the importance of lifelong learning across all situations cannot be overestimated.

The enaction educational method is designed to give students a head start in rising to this challenge.
